Theresa S. Bennish (nee Lupi), age 93, passed away on November 25, 2023, at Fair Acres Geriatric Center in Lima, PA, following a joyous Thanksgiving holiday spent with her family. Theresa was born and raised in Chester, PA, and was a graduate of Chester High School, Class of 1947. Prior to her move to Fair Acres, Theresa was a longtime resident of Aston, PA, raising and caring for her family there from 1976-2013. Before her retirement, she had worked as a Ward Clerk for Crozer Chester Medical Center. Theresa was known for living life to the fullest, filling her days with hobbies like knitting, arts & crafts, gardening, and making homemade Christmas cookies and wreaths during the holidays. She also enjoyed casino trips, bingo, and dancing and singing at family weddings and events. She was a lifelong member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Upper Chichester, PA. Theresa was the daughter of the late Serafino Lupi, Sr. and Rose Marchioni, wife of 38 years to the late Charles Bennish, Sr. (1988), mother-in-law of Helen Akers, and grandmother of the late Justin Bennish. Theresa was the last surviving Queen of a large Italian family, she was predeceased by her 11 brothers and sisters, Louis, Samuel, Frank, Sr., Serafino, Jr., and George Lupi, Sr., Mary Pisani, Stella Cook, Angelina Pryce, Eleanor Foth, and Catherine Helm. Survivors: Children: Charles Bennish, Jr., Joyce Bennish, Susan Bennish-Rollman (Rodney), and Theresa Elliott (Jim). Grandchildren: Charles Bennish, III, Jennifer Rollman, Christy Arciszewski, and Angelina Rose Elliott. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Judy Lupi, 9 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
