February 9, 1934 – February 10, 2024
Victor Robert Gentile, age 90, a resident of Garnet Valley, PA passed away on February 10, 2024 surrounded by his family at his home. Victor was raised and educated in Eddystone, PA where he graduated from St. Rose of Lima Parochial school. He was a graduate of St. James High School in Chester, PA. While working for Scott Paper, he obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the former Penn Morton College (now Widener University) in Chester, PA. Victor retired from Scott Paper/Kimberly Clark as a Research Manager after 40 years of service. He and his wife Celeste then retired to Sea Isle City, NJ. Victor's family was the greatest joy in his life but he also enjoyed his time fishing and volunteering for the local Knights of Columbus. Victor was a devout Catholic, eventually serving as Grand Knight with K of C Council #838913 at St. Joseph's Parish in Sea Isle City. He was the son of the late Nicola and Rosa Gentile, husband of the late Celeste M. (Perpetua) Gentile who died in 2022, father of Annette Viola who died in 2021, brother of the late John Gentile and Sr. Elaine Gentile, Sisters of Notre Dame, and uncle of the late Patricia Flickinger. Survivors: His son, Victor M. Gentile (Eileen), his son-in-law, Jeffrey Viola, 7 grandchildren: Michael Horne, Robert Horne, Nicholas Gentile, Missy Horne, Jennifer Gentile, Matthew Viola, Jonathan Viola, and great grandchildren: Madison Simpson, Brendan Horne, Lance Simpson, Teagan Ellis, Fynnleigh Simpson, Axel Harris, Abby Horne, Jackson Horne, loving nieces and nephews: Ellen Condi, Robert McHenry, Loretta Gentile, John Gentile, Carol Mininno, Christine Flickinger, Erin Flickinger, great nieces and nephews: John N. Gentile, Christopher Gentile, Patrick Gentile, Jaclyn Condi, Danielle Mininno, Jillian Condi, and Stephen Mininno. Visitation: Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 9:15-10:15am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA 19342. Funeral Mass: Saturday, February 17,2024 at 10:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Burial: Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
