Alice "Sis" Shuda (Née Hughes), age 97, passed away on June 26, 2026, at her home at Parkview at Naamans, in Upper Chichester, PA. Sis was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, residing in Grays Ferry for 80 years. She was a homemaker, caring for her family and home warmly and diligently for many years. Sis could often be found playing Bingo or Pokeno and reading whenever she had the time. She loved to take trips to places like Las Vegas, Hawaii, and North Wildwood, NJ with her family. Sis was a devoted Catholic, attending St. Gabriel's in Grays Ferry for many years.
Sis was the wife of 69 years to the late Andrew "Ongy" Shuda, Jr., daughter of the late James and Alice Hughes, and inseparable sister of the late James Hughes, Anna Lafferty, Jean McDonough, and Kitty Burke.
Survivors: Children: Drew Shuda (Kathleen), Kathleen Washkalavitch (John), Fran Shuda (Teresa), and Christine Murray (Patrick). Dearest Gram of: Kelly, Kasey, Killeen, Kerry, Allison, Lauren, Chris, Colleen, Andrew, Kyla, and Evan. Great Grandchildren: Ashley, Ryann, Miles, Elliott, Annika, Conrad, Luca, Declan, Ronan, Amelia, Andie, and Samuel. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: July 8, 2026, 9:30am-10:30am at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Upper Chichester, PA 19061. Funeral Mass: July 8, 2026 10:45am at St. John Fisher Catholic Church. Burial: Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In Lieu of Flowers: Donations may be made in Sis's memory to Our House Ministries at 1441 S. 29th St., Philadelphia, PA 19146 and/or Amedysis Hospice at 600 N. Jackson St., Suite 103, Media, PA 19063.
