Alvin (Al) Earl Helm, age 87, passed on February 11, 2021 at Riddle Memorial Hospital.  Born in Highpoint, North Carolina in 1933, he moved to Delaware County as a child.  Alvin lived in Chester and graduated from Chester High School in 1951. Alvin had a 27-year career with the United States Navy and traveled the world with his loving wife Catherine. They lived in Newfoundland, Washington, D.C., Brazil, Turkey, Spain, and Bermuda. He also served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War from 1968-1969.  He has lived in Upper Chichester since 1978. Alvin was past president of Upper Chichester Seniors Group and a member of the St. John Fisher Senior Group. He was a loving and giving man.  His wife, children, and grandsons were his pride and joy and he loved them dearly. He was the person many turned to for sage advice and assistance with life's problems. He will be sadly missed by all but never forgotten.
