Obituary

A. Gail Spedden, born on July 12, 1946, in Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on June 13th 2026. Gail was a proud graduate of Chester High School where she was Class Treasurer. She remained deeply connected to her school community throughout her life which included being an active part of the alumni and class reunion planning and coordination activities. During her career, she worked for many local physicians, earning the respect and friendship of colleagues and patients alike through her dedication and compassionate spirit.

A tireless volunteer and community advocate, Gail served with Crozer Chester Medical Center. and was a member of the Junior Board for more than 25 years. She was especially devoted to the education and success of young people, remaining active in the Upper Chichester School District throughout her son Larry's participation in football, basketball, and baseball.

Gail was a founding member and organizer of the HOPE Parents Organization, where she worked closely with local police officers and council members to help resolve community concerns and support local families. Her commitment to service and improving the lives of others left a lasting impact on those who knew her.

Outside of her volunteer work, Gail enjoyed attending school board meetings, spending time with her family, and traveling to the Jersey Shore. As a student at Chester High School, she proudly served as a majorette, a role she remembered fondly throughout her life.

Gail will be remembered for her generosity, strength, dedication to her community, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy of service and compassion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Gail was predeceased by her parents Thomas & Alice Lucas Ford and her beloved son Larry Spedden (2021).

SURVIVORS: her husband of 57 years, Lawrence Spedden, her niece Stacy Spedden Dauphin, her brother in law Bart Spedden and, Gail Phillips (Jeff).

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gail's life at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston on Monday June 22, 2026 from 10-11:15am.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday June 22, 2026 at 11:30am at the funeral home.
BURIAL: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood.
