It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude that we announce the passing of Angela Burningham, age 93, on January 7, 2025. Angela, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and educator, was born on February 4, 1931, in Neffs, Ohio. She made her journey to eternal rest peacefully at her home in Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, surrounded by love, with her devoted daughter, Camille, by her side.
Angela's life was characterized by her unwavering commitment to education and her deep faith. A graduate of Bellaire High School, Angela pursued higher education and earned a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology from George Washington University. Her career as a Speech Therapist and special education instructor spanned 36 years, where she touched the lives of countless children at Yorktown Elementary School and Samuel Ogle Elementary School in Bowie, Maryland. Angela's dedication to her students was evident in her passion for helping others find their voices.
A lifelong devout Catholic, Angela found solace and strength in her faith as a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where she attended Mass with joy and fervor. She was also a former member of Sacred Heart Church in Bowie, MD. Angela cherished the beauty of life and embraced nature, traveling whenever possible, but her greatest joy came from the moments spent with her grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Angela's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and the power of a kind word. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
Angela is predeceased by her parents Valentine and Anna Matyja Kiwaczyk, her siblings Helen Kalonick,Irene Kalonick, Vicki DePasquale, Lottie Thomann, Michaelene Bertram, and Al Kiwaczyk
She is survived by her beloved daughter with whom she lived Camille McQuillan, her grandchildren, Angela McQuillan (Casey Larkin), Michael McQuillan (Rachael), Rebecca McQuillan (Caris Lockhart), and Christopher McQuillan, and her cherished great grandchildren Annalise, Lucy, and August.
A Visitation will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, on Tuesday January 14, 2025. from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM, at the church, during which we will come together to honor Angela's legacy and her profound impact on the lives of those she loved.
Burial will be at a later date, planned at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown.
