Ann M. Rubright, age 82, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2017. Born in Bloomsburg, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Boyle) and John Church.
Ann graduated from Mount Carmel High School where she met the love of her life, Jim. She and Jim started their family in Southern California where they spent many happy years. During that time, she was a stay at home mother actively supporting her husband's Naval career. After moving back East, she worked in retail sales for Strawbridge and Clothier and later as a bookkeeper for doctors Ku Won Suh and Michael Teixido.
Ann was a long time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she enjoyed spending time with her dear friends at crafts, teas and many other church activities. She loved music, gardening and spending time on her porch entertaining family and friends; especially her beloved "Haggie Baggies".
Ann will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family as well as her kind and generous spirit, her sense of humor and her passion for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ann was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, James "Jim" Rubright, grandson Jim Brady and son-in-law Jack Malone. She will be dearly missed by her children, Carol Malone of Claymont, Jim Rubright of Wilmington, Jane Brady of Newark, Kate McGlinchey (Bill) of Wilmington and Jennifer Halligan of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Kristin, David, Aaron, Ashleigh, Zachary, Dylan, Jordan, Declan, Fiona, Anna, Sam and David as well as her great grandchildren, Meghan, Zoey, Abbie, Lily Ann, Gaige, Irelyn, Madilyn, Madison and Jude.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 9:30am to 10:45am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 3200 Philadelphia Pike Claymont, DE followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Internment will be private at the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Holy Rosary Church or St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Our family expresses special thanks to the wonderful staff at St Francis Compassionate Care especially her in-home caregivers Azalia, Janeen and LaDonna.
