Anna Król, age 96, of Brookhaven, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Born January 12th, 1928, Anna was the youngest of 12 children of Apolonia Ryznar and Josef Gebarowski of Szerzyny, Poland. She spent her formative years in Szerzyny and moved to Wroclaw, Poland, after World War II. She married Wladyslaw Król and welcomed two daughters, Teresa and Halina, before immigrating to the U. S. in 1962. Anna and her husband settled in Chester, PA and welcomed a son, Richard, a year later. They worked diligently to build a life in the U. S. Among numerous jobs, Anna celebrated 25+ years at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was a parishioner of St. Hedwig's Catholic Church until it's closure and later she joined Our Lady of Charity after moving to Brookhaven, PA. Her most recent achievement was becoming a U. S. citizen at the age of 90, proudly voting in her first Presidential election in 2020. Anna was preceded by her husband of 40 years, Wladyslaw. In addition to her children, she is survived by her granddaughters, Andrea Sisak, Dr. Stephanie Sisak, and Jaclyn Krol; her son-in-law, Stephen Sisak and daughter-in-law, Lisa Krol. Anna was loved by her family and friends for being an exemplary mother, grandmother, and friend. She always did what needed to be done, she sacrificed her comfort and needs for others and maintained her independence to the very end. Visitation: Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 10-11 at Our Lady of Charity Catholic Church, 231 Upland Road, Brookhaven, PA. Funeral Mass: 11am at church. Interment will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, 1701 Market St. Linwood, PA 19061. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Anna's memory to Our Lady of Charity Church.
