Anna Vile passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 7, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on April 13, 1941, to the late Albert and Maria Sassone.
Anna grew up in South Philadelphia and was a graduate of Saint Maria Goretti High School. She is survived by her sister, Theresa Guarracino. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gaetano Sassone, her two sisters, Helen Mocarski and Frances Mikalic, her great grandson Angelo Cruz and her stepson, James Vile, Jr.
After starting her family, Anna moved to the Chichester area, where she spent many years raising her children and building a life surrounded by family and friends. She worked for many years as a Customer/Provider Services Representative for Delaware Valley HMO, Blue Cross of Philadelphia, and ChristianaCare. After retiring, Anna moved to Pennsville, NJ and then moved to Summerfield, Florida, where she enjoyed her retirement years.
Anna loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping, and taking trips to the casino. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with the people she loved and the memories she created with them.
Anna is survived by her husband, James Vile of Summerfield, FL; her daughter, Lynn (Craig) Carney of Middletown, DE; and her sons, Victor (Maryann) Phillip of Lewes, DE; Mark (Sharon) Phillip of Tampa Bay, FL; Raymond (Chris) Hastings of Harrisburg, PA; Michael (Roseann) Hastings of Boothwyn, PA; and Frankie (Margie) Hastings of Chester, PA, and stepson Matthew Vile from Delaware. She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Anna will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her warmth, love, and the many memories they shared with her. But most of all will be remembered for being a proud, loving, fun and thoughtful G-G Mom. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
