Obituary

Dr. Anthony P. Carbo, D.O., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected physician, passed away peacefully at his home on August 17, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Carbo was raised in Yeadon and later Drexel Hill. His academic journey took him from St. Bernadette Catholic School to St. Joseph's Preparatory School, culminating in his undergraduate degree from St. Joseph's University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.Dr. Carbo devoted his life to medicine, serving as the Director of Emergency Medicine at Taylor Hospital and practicing in the emergency departments of Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Methodist Hospital. He was not only dedicated to his patients but also passionate about the joys of life, enjoying skiing and golfing in his free time. A longtime and devoted parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Media, PA, he found solace and community in his faith. Dr. Anthony P. Carbo will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but for the love he shared with his family and friends, leaving a legacy of compassion and dedication.He was the son of the late A. Joseph and Evelyn (née Bianco) Carbo, and brother of the late Marie Carbo. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 57 years, Lucille Brescia Carbo; his cherished daughter, Cynthia Ann Rendel (Barron); his sisters, Vera Carbo and Elaine Carbo (Michael Hannon); and his adoring grandchildren, Alexis, Lauren, and Chase Rendel.Dr. Carbo's life will be honored with a Funeral Mass on August 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, located at 2400 N. Providence Rd., Media, PA 19063. Prior to the Mass, a public visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., allowing friends and family to gather and share their memories. Following the Mass, Dr. Carbo will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Tony's name be made to St. Joseph's Preparatory School (1733 W.
