Dragoni, Sr.
April 16, 1927 – December 3, 2017
Anthony J."Tony" Dragoni, Sr. age 90, with his family by his side, entered into eternal rest on Dec 3, 2017. Tony was a long time resident of Woodlyn, PA. He was raised in Chester and was a graduate of St. Anthony's School and Chester High School.
Tony served his Country during WWII and The Korean War, as a member of the United States Army. While in High School, at the young age of 12, Tony began working as a part time barber's apprentice. Tony continued to enjoy practicing his barber skills throughout his life by cutting hair for family members and close friends. From the age of 15 until his retirement at the age of 84,Tony worked in industrial hardware sales for Chester Hardware and Supply Co. of Chester, Pa. He was a member of the Columbus Center in Chester, and the West End Boat Club. He was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima in Eddystone for over 63 years. Tony thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He was a collector of military memorabilia and antique trains. He had his own woodworking shop in his basement and was a skilled finished carpenter. Tony always had a kind word for anyone he met and was a positive role model for his children and grandchildren. He was very proud of his Italian heritage.
Tony was the son of the late Emidio Dragoni of S'Onofrio, Teramo, Italy and Ernestina Angelini Dragoni of Ascoli, Piceno, Italy, brother of the late Teresa, Mary, Rose DeMeo, Emidio, Jr., Ann Marie DiDomenico, Francis, and brother-in-law to the late Dorothy Dragoni.
SURVIVORS: His loving wife of 70 years: Aida Dragoni (née Corradetti); his children: Rosemarie (Charles) Fisher, Anthony (Jackie) Dragoni, and Joseph Dragoni; his grandchildren: Nicole, Jennifer, Kevin, Anthony, and Andrea; his great grandchildren: Charles and Michael; his brother: James Dragoni; and many loving nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Friends may call Monday, December 11th from 8:45-9:45 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA. FUNERAL MASS: Mass will be held Monday, December 11th at 10:00 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone. BURIAL: Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, PA.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Anthony's name to the American Cancer Society or the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital
