Dr. Arthur J. DeMarco, age 103, passed away on May 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of the late Raphael and Angelia (Itri) DeMarco loving husband to the late Edith (Cicione) DeMarco, father to the late Robert DeMarco and brother to the late Mary (DeMarco) Ferrari and Joseph and Larry DeMarco. Survivors: His loving children: Arthur (Vicki), Regina Gucciardi (Steven), Stephen (Debra) and Kenneth (Carol) DeMarco, his grandchildren: Paul and Michael Gucciardi, Andrew, Lauren and David DeMarco, David Connors and Jacqueline Stanish, his great-grandchildren: Layla, William and Elise Gucciardi, Domenic and Cole Stanish, and Jayden and Dante Connors.
He attended Villanova University and Temple School of Dentistry, graduating in 1942. Arthur served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army in WWII on a Army ship, the Saint-Mihiel, for almost 4 years. After that he practiced dentistry in Yeadon PA for over 53 years. He loved his work and his patients and they loved and respected him.
Arthur read the Philadelphia Inquirer every morning from front to back. He was always up on current events. He was an avid fan of his beloved Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. Most of all, he enjoyed the beach and spending time with his family.
He will always be remembered as a devoted husband to the love of his life (Edith), a loving father, a compassionate, wise man with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation: Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 9:30am - 10:15am at St. Cornelius Church at 160 Ridge Rd, Chadds Ford, PA 19317. Funeral Mass: Wednesday at 10:30am at St. Cornelius Church. Burial: Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
