Arthur Smith, age 96, a longtime resident of Brookhaven, PA, passed away on October 12, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Chester, PA, Arthur proudly served his country as a Corporal in Company L, 111th Infantry of the United States Army. After completing his military service, he settled in Brookhaven in 1956, with his wife Bertha, where they raised their family. Arthur was employed as a Boilermaker for Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, and following retirement, he continued to serve his community as a school crossing guard at Parkside Elementary School. He was a volunteer fireman, a lifetime member of Felton Fire Co. No. 3, a 42-year member of Penn Lodge No. 709 F&AM, and a proud member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Penn Forest No. 21, as well as several other Masonic organizations. Arthur was an avid hunter, lifelong dog lover, and will be fondly remembered for his warmth and dedication to his family and community. His family finds comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his wife Bertha and all of his brothers and sister, along with his beloved Golden Retriever, Benny. Among his greatest joys in life was being a grandfather. He adored his granddaughter, Amber, and loved spending time with her. He was the son of the late Warren and Mabel (nee Gross) Smith, husband of the late Bertha M. Smith (1991), and brother of the late Harvey, Frank, Robert, George, and Warren Smith, and Marion Glover. Survivors: His loving daughters Susan L. Hunt (William) and Lisa A.
