IN LOVING MEMORY OF
B. Joyce
(Gemmill) Mccall
September 24, 1935 – October 20, 2022
B. Joyce (Gemmill) McCall, age 87, a longtime resident of Wallingford, PA passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022 surrounded by her six children and family. Joyce was born in Seattle, WA, graduated from Cleveland High School where she made lifelong friends, and attended Seattle University. More recently, she and her late husband Charlie resided at Riddle Village in Media, PA. She was a devout parishioner of St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in Wallingford, where she enjoyed singing hymns and being a lector. She was the consummate picture of beauty and grace, always.
After her marriage to Charlie in Seattle (1955), Joyce lovingly made every house a home, starting with the move to Delaware County in 1964. She held top positions in all aspects of her long life, lovingly keeping the family on track. Her abundant talents ranged from motherhood to Mary Kay consulting, cooking to playing cards, seamstress to swim meets, fashion to finance, tennis to travels…always keeping family first. With Charlie, she enjoyed both snow skiing and beach days alike, making the shores of Maui, HI and Sea Isle City, NJ second homes. She loved their extended beach time in Hilton Head, SC as well as their U.S. and world travels with family and dear friends.
Joyce is the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Duffy) Gemmill, and mother of the late David George McCall (1989) and infant David Hugh McCall (Deborah's twin, 1958). She is now reunited with them and her late loving husband of 67 years, Charles D. McCall, Jr., who passed on May 2, 2022. She is also reunited with her sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Wolfe and Kathleen Stremick, and her grandchildren, Tamara Rhile (2013) and infant Aidan Perez (2004).
She is survived by the joys of her life, her children and their families: Thomas McCall (Lee Ann), Patricia Jones (John), Deborah Stannard (Mark), Stephanie Perez (Leano), Hugh McCall (Patricia) and John McCall (Colleen), her grandchildren: Lesley Grossberg, Jeffrey, Colin, and Rhys McCall; John C. and Brian Jones; Aaron and Adam Stannard, Natalie Derstine, Laura Rusterholtz; Derek Rhile; Kellene Coulombe, Sean, Devin, and Maximilian McCall; Roan, Bryn and Evan McCall; her 23 great grandchildren, and counting. She taught us how to love, Always, All Ways!
