Bernice Joan (nee Karlunas) Powell, age 92, passed away on October 3, 2025. Born in Scranton, PA, and raised in Eddystone, Bernice was a proud graduate of Eddystone High School and a lifelong parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. She spent more than 30 years raising her family in Folsom before later moving to Upper Chichester. Bernice loved her years working at Macy's and cherished vacationing in Ocean City, NJ. She was known for her warm hospitality, love of entertaining, and her exceptional skill as both a cook and baker-sharing the fruits of her talents generously with family and friends. She also enjoyed many years of volunteering at Our Lady of Peace Church and School, helping with calendar parties, fashion shows, Christmas bazaars, bake sales, the sports field house, and cheerleading. Bernice also found joy in gardening, but above all, her greatest love was her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Bernice was the daughter of the late Walter and Julia (nee Leskosky) Karlunas, beloved wife of 68 years to the late Robert "Buzzy" Powell, sister of the late Connie Gillerlain and Walter Karlunas, and grandmother of the late Connor Morse. She is survived by her children: David Powell (Carol), Joann Kelly, and Julia Morse (Eric); and her grandchildren David, Samantha, Nathan, and Amanda.
