Carmen F. Lavella (Cookie), age 72, died peacefully May 31, 2018 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Carmen was born and raised in Chester. Carmen has resided in Media for the past 42 years. He graduated from St. James High School Class of 1965. He also graduated from St. Gregory's College in Tulsa, OK. Carmen was co-owner and operator of the Lavella Brothers, Night Owls Wholesale Market in Chester. Carmen prided himself on continuing his father's legacy in the family business with his brothers and ensuring a meritorious education for his children. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going to the Jersey shore. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Nativity BVM Church in Media where he was a devout Catholic and very active in parish life, adoration and a prolife advocate. Carmen was a very generous and giving person always willing to help someone in need.

He was the son of the late Gabriel and Linda Rapposelli Lavella.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Carol Brownell Lavella, his children Jennifer Flach (John), Dr. Gabriel Lavella, Joseph Lavella (Carolyn), Natalie Notarianni (Michael), brothers Joseph Lavella and Gabriel Lavella, grandchildren John, Alyssa, Justin, Sophia, Delaney, Dominic, and Callum.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:15-10:45 am at Nativity BVM Church, Monroe & Franklin Streets, Media. Funeral Mass will follow at the church at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nativity BVM Church.
