It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Contrisciani, 78, who peacefully passed away on September 14, 2025, at her home in Claymont, DE. Born and raised in Springfield, PA, Carol also resided in Pot-Nets Community of Millsboro, DE. Carol embraced her life's journey surrounded by loving family and friends. Carol's nurturing spirit led her to a fulfilling career as a registered nurse, where she dedicated many years of service at St. Francis Country House, providing compassionate care to those in need. She earned her nursing degree from the Chester County Hospital School of Nursing and held dear the values of kindness and empathy that guided her throughout her career.
An adventurous soul, Carol was an avid world traveler, cherishing memories made in breathtaking locations such as Egypt, Italy, Greece, and France, and across the stunning landscapes of the U.S. and National Parks. She delighted in years of luxury cruising, boating on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay, and when at home, enjoyed cooking and baking. Above all, Carol treasured the moments spent with her children and grandchildren, who were the cornerstone of her life.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Caroline Mitchell Coughlin, and her husband, Alfonso Contrisciani. She is survived by her devoted children: James Lynch, Melissa Sappington (Mark) and Jamie Della Polla (Melany); her brother Harold "Buddy" Coughlin; and her beautiful granddaughters Amanda Lynch, Carrie Ann Sappington, and Leigh Ann Sappington. Her love will be forever missed.
Funeral Liturgy will be on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, located at 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:15am AM at the funeral home.

Following the service, Carol will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon.
