Carol Lynne (Keithley) Golden, Age 69, passed away on December 16, 2021, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Ashville, NC.  Carol was raised and educated Chichester and graduated from Chichester High School in 1970 and attended Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, DE.  She has currently resided in Marion, NC for the past 7 years.

Carol was employed by Concord Beverage, Sacred Heart, and Penn Del Medical where she retired in 2014.  Carol was a partner with her family of GK Gifts and Collectibles at Booth's Corner for many years. Even after her retirement, patients and customers always asked for her and sent their love.

Carol was a resident of the Lucky Strike Gold Club and Gem Mine where she was such a helping hand to her friends and neighbors by making sure they had everything they needed.  She always gave support whenever she could by taking them to the store or appointments.  Carol was an avid bowler and was on many bowling teams with her family over the years. She was a huge fan of NASCAR, country music, and loved The Beatles.  She also enjoyed traveling all over the country and loved visiting other Gold Clubs and Mines, playing cards, especially Canasta, and doing puzzles.  She had a great affection for all animals and would help with caring and fostering of dogs and cats while finding them their forever homes.  She also was a breeder of Golden Retrievers and Dachshunds.  Carol saved a multitude of animals for The Mercy Fund, which is why this animal rescue is so close to her heart. Carol was strong in her faith and was a long-time member of Chichester Baptist Church.  Carol was a loving, caring soul, and she will surely be missed by all.

Carol was the daughter of the late Melvin R. Keithley, Sr., and Eleanor (nee Nickle).

SURVIVORS:  Her Loving Husband of 32 years:  Brent Chan Golden; her brother:  Melvin "Rick" Keithley, Jr, (Carol), Nephew Joseph Keithley, and several aunts, cousins, and extended family of nieces and nephews.
