Carol (née Van Gorder) Znacko, age 89, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025. Carol was raised and educated in Claymont, DE, and was a proud graduate of Claymont High School. A lifelong resident of Wilmington, she worked for several years at DuPont as an administrative assistant before dedicating herself full-time to raising her son. She enjoyed visiting Delaware Park, cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies, and, most of all, spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and "Mom-mom," whose warmth and presence will be deeply missed. She is the daughter of the late John and Ruth (née MacNamara) Van Gorder, wife of 49½ years to the late John R. Znacko (2011), and sister of the late Edward Van Gorder and Jean Eck. Survivors: Her loving son, David Znacko (Helene); her sister, Mary Ellen Dawson; her grandchildren: Lauren (Caleb), Madison, and Patrick; her great-granddaughter, Avery; as well as many nieces and nephews.
