Obituary

Catherine P. Malick, affectionately known as Pat, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family at Sunrise of Granite Run. Born on August 31, 1932, Catherine was a lifelong resident of Chester, Pennsylvania, where she built a rich tapestry of cherished memories and profound connections throughout her life. Growing up in Chester, Pat was shaped by her close-knit community and the values instilled in her during her formative years. A proud graduate of Notre Dame Girls Catholic High School in Moylan, Class of 1950, she carried the joy of learning into her life as a devoted parishioner of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church. Her faith was an enduring source of strength and guidance, deeply interwoven into the fabric of her daily life. Married to her beloved husband, John Peter Malick, for 63 wonderful years, Pat created a warm and loving home, nurturing her family with kindness, patience, and unwavering support. She was a dedicated mother to her children, and poured her heart into supporting them through their endeavors-whether guiding them in volleyball, softball, or cheerleading as they participated at St. Robert's Parochial School. In her later years, Pat embraced new challenges by working as an administrative assistant in various local doctor's offices, providing her talents and compassionate spirit to those in need. Alongside her professional commitments, she dedicated countless hours volunteering at her children's school, fostering a strong sense of community and service. Pat's interests were as vibrant as she was; she enjoyed expressing her creativity through ceramics, diving into the pages of captivating books, and embracing the fun of bowling with friends. Her summers spent at the family's cherished home in Ocean City, New Jersey, were filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments that will be treasured forever by her family and friends. Catherine P. Malick's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be cherished, and she will be profoundly missed by her family and many friends. Pat was the daughter of the late: Edward and Marie O'Neill Moran, and the beloved wife of the late John P. Malick, her sister Maureen Barr, her brother in law Gene Barr, and her brother Edward Moran.
