Obituary

Charles Evers III of Boothwyn, PA, passed away on July 30, 2026 at his home.
Charles was born and raised in Chester, Pa. He was graduate of St. James High School, class of 1966. After high school, he joined the US Navy as a corpsman attached to the Marines and did a tour in Vietnam for which he received a Purple Heart. After returning home, he met and married his wife of 52 years, Gloria. Charles worked as a K9 police officer, with his partner, Baron, in the city of Chester until his retirement in 1993.

In his younger years, Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing and socializing with his close friends. In his older years, Charles spent his time defying the odds by conquering injuries and illnesses, including Guillain-Barre syndrome and Covid, all of which he was told would be his end. This led to many family jokes about his being a cat with 12 lives and his being too stubborn to go anywhere. Charles went when he was ready on his on terms, surrounded by his family.

Charles is survived by his wife, Gloria Evers. His two children Charles Evers IV (Nicole) and Janet Evers (Matt). His grandchildren: Brandon Evers, Daniel Evers, Matthew Evers, and Savannah Janusky. His sister, RuthAnn Slowik (Albert). Nephews: Joseph Alonso (Keira), Joseph Slowik (Ashley), and Michael Slowik (Krista), and great-nephew, Michael Alonso. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Charles Jr. and Angeline Evers and his grandson, Tyler.

Funeral Service & Burial: Private.
