It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles J. 'Buddy' McNeil, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Born in Chester, PA, Charles was a proud graduate of the Ridley High School Class of 1959. His life's work as an insurance agent in Delaware and Delaware County, PA, brought him fulfillment and purpose, touching the lives of many in the process. Charles was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, finding camaraderie and brotherhood in his service. Outside of his professional pursuits, he found solace in crabbing and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, and cherished the summers spent at Crystal Beach Manor. His passion for classic cars led him to become a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, where he shared his enthusiasm with fellow enthusiasts. As a United States Army veteran, Buddy served his country with honor and dedication. His commitment to duty and service extended beyond his military service and into his everyday interactions with those around him. Buddy was also a member of St John Fisher Church, Boothwyn. Buddy was predeceased by his parents the late Charles and Hazel Sara McNeil and his siblings Shirley Martz and and Charles Arthur McNeil Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 63 years Jean Naples McNeil, loving children Lisa Mantegna and Charles "Scott" McNeil (Lisa), and cherished grandchildren, Laura, Kage, Scott, Francesca, and Giovanni, and two great grandchildren Layla and Maya.
