Obituary

Charles W. "Chuck" Taylor, age 87 of Aston, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Chester, PA, Chuck was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1953. He graduated from Widener University in 1980 and was a supervisor in the paper industry for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He then worked at Chester Rural Cemetery for 5 years. Chuck had a passion for photography and loved taking pictures of high school football games. He touched the lives of thousands of athletes throughout Delaware County by gifting photos to them, creating permanent memories. Chuck was inducted into the Delaware County Athletes Hall of Fame, Sun Valley H.S. Distinguished Hall of Fame, and Aston Sports Hall of Fame, of which he was a co-founder. Chuck's children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He never missed a school activity or sporting event when it came to his grandchildren. The legacy of Chuck's kind and generous spirit, his passion for sports, love of reading, and his zest for life will live on through them. He proudly served his country in the US Army and was a man of faith and lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Chester. Chuck was genuine and selfless, always putting others before himself. He will be greatly missed by all but never forgotten. Chuck was predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth Bradley, his siblings Dorothy Furdyna, Raymond Taylor, Martha April, Lawrence Bradley, and Cecelia Pierson. Survivors: His beloved wife of 60 years Josephine Zappala Taylor. His Loving Children: Karen Dumont (Mark Sr.) and Charles Taylor Jr. (Susan). His cherished grandchildren: Mark Jr., Ryan, Nicholas, Angela, Kayla, and Charles III. Siblings: William, Samuel, Norman Bradley, and Lois Bixby. Visitation : Monday January 2, 2023 from 9-11am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston PA, 19014. Funeral Mass 12 noon at Christ Episcopal Church, 311 S.
