Christine Louise "Chrissy Lou" Iglesias
September 24, 1944 – June 4, 2026
It is with deep sadness, yet hearts full of gratitude for a life beautifully lived, that we announce the passing of Christine Louise "Chrissy Lou" Iglesias, who entered into eternal rest on June 4, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born in Linwood, Pennsylvania, on September 24, 1944, Chrissy Lou was the beloved daughter of Anthony and Justine Jacono and the cherished sister of Angeline and Rosemary. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Moylan, Pennsylvania, in 1962. Her lifelong love of history and curiosity about the world led her to American University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Service in 1966.
Chrissy Lou's life was anchored by her unwavering devotion to God and her Catholic faith. She was a dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Marcus Hook, where she faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister. She also found great purpose in her vocation as a Catholic school teacher at Holy Saviour–St. John Fisher School in Linwood. Through her patience, kindness, and wisdom, she shaped countless young lives and left a lasting impression on generations of students.
Above all else, Chrissy Lou was the heart of her family. She shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Edmundo. Together, they raised four children: Anthony, Gina, Eddie, and Nicolas. Later in life, she was blessed with the extraordinary opportunity to become a mother figure once again to her grandson, Anthony Iglesias. She embraced that role with boundless love, guidance, and devotion, treasuring every moment they shared.
To know Chrissy Lou was to feel welcomed. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel at home and deeply valued. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and abundance, where she could effortlessly prepare a meal for twenty, bake trays of pizzelles and homemade pies, or serve her famous roasted red peppers. Yet her greatest gift was not her cooking—it was her presence. In a crowded room, she had the rare ability to make each person feel as though they were the only one there.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved son, Eddie, and that the woman who so graciously welcomed others throughout her life has now been welcomed into her eternal home by God.
Chrissy Lou is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Edmundo Iglesias; her children, Anthony Iglesias, Gina Fioravanti (Chip), and Nicolas Iglesias (Kristen); her daughter-in-law, Sydnee Iglesias ; her beloved grandson, Anthony Iglesias (Ruth); and the special joys of her life, her grandchildren Hannah, Ryan, Madison, Logan, Alan, Jack, Emmy, and Colin, as well as her great-grandson, Little Anthony. She also leaves many extended family members, friends, former students, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and generosity.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Chrissy Lou's life at a Funeral Mass on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. John Fisher Church, 4225 Chichester Avenue, Boothwyn, Pennsylvania. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed immediately by the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Chrissy Lou do so by extending kindness to someone in need, welcoming a friend to the table, or offering an act of quiet service in the spirit of the faith and generosity by which she lived.
