Daniel A. Pierson, Jr., 79, of Springfield, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, November 6, 2026, in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Dan was born on August 9, 1947, the son of the late Daniel and Helen Pierson, and was raised in Springfield, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in Upper Darby and then served his country in the United States Navy.

After his service, Dan came home to Springfield and as his primary career ran the family gas and automotive service station on Baltimore Pike - (at one point, known as the golden mile). For decades the station was a fixture of the neighborhood, and Dan was a familiar face to generations of Springfield residents.

Music was Dan's true passion. He loved all things classic rock, and above all The Beatles. Few things made him happier than a good discussion about his favorite music and industry that produced it. Dan carved out a second career for himself as a disc jockey - he was passionate about this and flourished, as he curated a mixture of genres lighting up the crowds in King of Prussia. He also loved classic muscle cars, owned several and enjoyed racing them. Dan also enjoyed model cars, and TV shows like: Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy and Charlie Chan. Dan was also a lover of Imperial Pizza in Secane Pennsylvania - famously known for its "sandy bottom" crust!

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved daughter, Michelle Pierson, who passed away on July 3, 2016, at the age of 34.

He is survived by his son, Daniel Grant, and by his nephews, Christopher Lynam and Thomas Lynam.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service and interment on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan's memory to the American Cancer Society.
