Dr. David Darrell DeFries, Sr. "DOC" died March 19, 2017 at Naamans Creek Country Manor from a long battle with kidney disease at the age of 72. David was raised in Chester, PA and graduated from Chester High School. He then attended Pennsylvania Military College and received his Doctorate in Chiropractic from National College of Chiropractic. Dr. David DeFries, Sr. practiced for 50 years in Delaware County, PA and was a founding contributor of Parker Chiropractic College. He has been recognized with many awards from his colleagues including the Chiropractor of the Year. When not treating patients, David enjoyed playing pool, cards, boating, and especially spending time with his family and friends.

He was proceeded in his death by his parents Dr. William DeFries and Ruth DeFries and his sisters Edith Fiering and Diane DeFries. Dr. David DeFries, Sr. is survived by his children Dr. Denise DeFries of Rehoboth Beach, DE., Dr. David DeFries, Jr. of Wilmington, DE., Danielle Bellingham of Kennett Square, PA., and his granddaughter Sophia Bellingham.

Visitation is Sunday April 2, 2017 from 1-3 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 3 pm at the Phoenix Banquet Facility attached to the Reliance Fire Company, 1661 Mill Road, Boothwyn, PA 19061.
