IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David
Lancit
June 19, 1962 – March 29, 2023
David "Dave" Lancit was born on June 19, 1962, to William Lancit Sr. and Barbara Lancit in Philadelphia, PA. David was the youngest son out of five sons and two daughters - Alfred Schell (deceased - April 16, 2016), Tyrone Schell, Kenneth Lancit, William Lancit Jr., Lisa Lancit-Moore, and Jennifer Lancit - siblings that he loved very much! David graduated from Franklin Learning Center with high honors.
When he was a teenager, he fell in love at first sight with Rhonda Washington in West Philadelphia. The two of them became one on January 28, 1983 and were lovingly married to each other for nearly nineteen years until Rhonda's death on October 25, 2001. Their marriage was blessed and from it came two children - Devin Lamar and Daneen Nicole.
David was an amazing husband and father. He always made sure that all of his family needs (and most of their wants) were met, and worked very hard to fulfill them. As a family man, he was caring, considerate, protective, and loving; and these qualities are evident if you know and see his children, as they learned as much from him as they could (even the bad qualities but those were offset by their mother!).
To meet his family needs, David started working for PECO in 1982 and as the company changed to Exelon, and then Constellation Energy, he continued to work there for over 40 years, holding many positions including management, earning recognitions and awards while also giving back to the community. He was known as a "Top Notch" manager, always "taking it on the chin" for his co-workers, who had a deep respect and love for him; and he the same in return for them. He instilled those same ethics into his children.
The most important thing that David taught his children, and tried to demonstrate with his life, was his love for Jehovah God. His belief in God was strong at a very young age, and with his parents and siblings, he developed a love for his heavenly father Jehovah. He showed that love by getting baptized. Even though he did not fully live up to his dedication, he always kept his love and respect for Jehovah, attending every memorial of Jesus Christ, saying "I'm going to come back". And for that love and respect, Jehovah loves him back by keeping him in His memory.
David will be greatly missed by his children, Devin and Daneen; his granddaughter, Laila; his siblings, Tyrone Schell, Kenneth Lancit, William Lancit Jr., Lisa Lancit-Moore (Lawrence Moore), and Jennifer Lancit (Tonya Lancit) and Earl Baker; and scores of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Grieve for his loss, but remember his hope!
