Obituary

Debra Ann Mallon (nee Loiacono), 74, of Aston, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday April 25th. Debra is survived by Thomas Mallon, her loving husband of 53 years; her three children Thomas (Donna), Janice (Rick), and Jill (Daniel); and three grandchildren Kiera, Patrick, and RJ; her older brother Michael (Marie), and her younger brother Thomas, among many nieces and nephews. Her passing was preceded by her father Leonard and mother Janice. Born in Philadelphia in 1951. She moved to Yeadon in 1966. Debra was a 1969 graduate of Archbishop Prendergast. After high school, Debra started working for the public defenders in Philadelphia as a secretary. Debra married Thomas in 1972. In 1988, Debra started full time at Green Ridge Elementary school as an assistant secretary. Debra worked her way through Penn Delco, from Northley Middle School and finally to Pennell elementary school as the Principal's secretary. Debra retired from Pennell in April 2016. Debra was an avid reader. She shared this love with her daughters and granddaughter. She loved flowers, gardening, birds, crocheting, cross stitch, and baking. Debra enjoyed going to Lancaster County, the Poconos, and the New Jersey shore. Debra cared deeply for her friends and family especially her grandchildren. She cherished her time with her family on holidays, special occasions, or a random Sunday dinner. She always found the best in people. She led by example with her quiet strength. Visitation: Friday, May 2, 2025, 6:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday, May 3, 2025, 10:00am-11:00am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014. Funeral Liturgy: Saturday, May 3, 2025, 11:00am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers: Donations may be made in St Joseph Catholic Church at https://churchofstjosephaston.org/giving
