Denise Sportelli-Winkler, age 55, passed away on June 26, 2025. She was born in Philadelphia and raised in West Philly before moving to Drexel Hill. She was a longtime resident of Newtown Square where she spent over three decades creating a warm and beautiful life for her family. She was self-employed and ran her own business she called "Denise Digs Dirt" where she brought her talents as a gifted horticulturist to life. Denise was a true giver, she found deep joy in making others feel welcome, loved, and completely at ease. She didn't need to share someone's beliefs or background to embrace them fully. Her ability to connect with others was extraordinary; she gave her time, attention, and love without hesitation or condition. She is the daughter of the late Dominic and Lorraine Sportelli, granddaughter to the late Dominic and Helen, and Charles and Mary, and also lovingly remembered by her late Nan, Helen. Survivors: Her loving son, Dalton Winkler; Denise's pride and joy were her two nephews, Brayden and Mason. She leaves behind her siblings: Cathy (Louis), Michael, Jerry, Dominic, Maria, Angeline, and John. She also held a special place in her heart for Anthony "LT", whom she loved like a son. Denise will be deeply missed by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
