Dennis "Big D" Kounnas, Sr., age 53, died suddenly on June 5, 2015 doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle. Dennis was born and raised in Chester and moved to Brookhaven 16 years ago. He was employed by J & K Trash Removal and was formerly employed by Metro Machine at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. Dennis was always known as a man who helped the elderly; he was loved by all that he had contact with and soon afterwards developed everlasting friendships. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he adored. Dennis was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers fan, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, landscaping, fishing and spending time at his summer home at the Jersey Shore. He was a member of the Warriors' Watch welcome home for veterans and was active with Toys for Tots.

Kounnas (Jenna Ferrante), grandchildren: Kenny IV and Vienna, siblings: Elizabeth Johnson (John), Ruby Smith (Pete), Edward Kounnas, and Laura Zaffiri, brother-in-law: David Moretti (Beth), sister-in-law: Catherine Moretti; and many nieces and nephews.
