Dmytro "Jimmy" Matijkiw, age 71, a resident of Chester passed away February 5, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Dmytro was born in Ellwangen, Germany and immigrated to Philadelphia in 1956. Jimmy was formerly employed as an accountant with O'Reilly & White accounting in Narberth, PA and then worked with Dan Lepore & Sons Construction Co. Jimmy was a longtime parishioner Holy Myrrh-Bearer's Eastern Catholic Church in Swarthmore.
He was the son of the late Mychajlo and Kateryna Matijkiw
SURVIVORS: His wife of 45 years: Christine (Maleckyj) Matijkiw, his 2 sons: Bohdan Justin Matijkiw (Sherri) and Alexander Matijkiw, his 2 grandsons: Jayden and Caleb, his 2 brothers: Roman (Janet) and Michajlo (Lori) and his nieces and nephews: Kateryna "Katie", Connor, Michajlo "Mishu", and Anastasia.
Visitation: Monday, February 11, 2019 from 9:30-10:45am at Holy Myrrh-Bearer's Ukrainian Church, 900 Fairview Rd., Swarthmore, PA. 19081. Funeral Service: Monday at 11:00am at the church. Burial: St. Mary's Ukrainian Cemetery, Fox Chase. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Myrrh-Bearer's Ukrainian Church.
