Obituary

Dolores M. Tosto, age 84, passed away surrounded by her family on October 30, 2025. A lifelong resident of Chester, PA; born in the West End, she spent the remainder of her life in Sun Hill, where she raised her family. She attended Resurrection of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church (aka Rez) for grade school, graduated from Holy Child Academy in Sharon Hill, and attended Goldey-Beacom College. Dolores worked for Boeing Vertol, where she met her husband, Michael. After Michael's passing, she returned to work in 1990 at Giant Food Stores in Brookhaven, Pa. until her retirement in 2018. A devoted mother of five, Dolores, was active in everything they did. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, a Lifetime Member of the Girl Scouts, and always dedicating her time and energy to their interests. She loved being around her family. Her greatest joy was being Grandmom to all of her awesome grandchildren. They were her pride and joy and favorite topic of conversation. Dolores attended all the dance recitals, concerts, and school events that come with having a large, beautiful extended family. A die hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, Dolores was so proud to be able to have lived in Sun Hill when the Eagles practiced at Widener University (then known as Widener College). She was an artist who loved to paint and draw, she loved watching movies and was a voracious reader who couldn't wait to tell you all about it. She cherished taking trips to the shore and beach with her lifelong friends from her school years. In recent years, dinners with her cousins were the highlight of every month. Dolores was the daughter of the late William and Marie (née Borcky) Murray, the beloved wife of the late Michael Tosto, and the sister of the late Albert "Chick" Murray. Survivors: Her children Vincent Tosto, Teresa Cummings (Tom), William "Bill" Tosto, Marie Tosto, and Michael Tosto (Stephanie); and her grandchildren Benjamin Tosto, Taylor DiStefano, Monica Cummings, Natalie Towers, Thomas Cummings, Jr., Madelyn Tosto, and Sophia Tosto. Dolores was a true friend to everyone she met. Always kind. Always generous. Always in our hearts. She will be missed every day. Condolences: www.nolanfidale.com
