Dorothea "Dottie" Fredericksdorf, 77, of Avondale, PA passed away suddenly on October 20, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Dottie was born on December 11, 1944, in Upper Darby, PA. Following graduation from Upper Darby High School, Dottie entered the workforce and soon after met the love of her life, James Fredericksdorf. After marrying James and starting their family, she put her career on hold to dedicate her life to raising her children. Dottie spent many hours volunteering as a school nurse, lunchroom mom, working with the CYO and Athletic Associations, and so much more. After Dottie's children were grown and she returned to the workforce, she spent much of her career working as the retail manager at Bryn Mawr Thrift Shop, sparking a love of thrifting and finding a good deal, which continued long after the thrift shop days as she loved scouring the aisles of Goodwill to look for the best finds. In addition to thrifting and auctions, Dottie loved animals of all kinds, playing hostess to wonderful parties and events, and more than anything, spending time with her cherished family. When Dottie loved, she loved with all her heart, and nothing was more important to her than her family and friends. Dottie was preceded in death by her son, James Fredericksdorf (Donna). She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, James Fredericksdorf, and daughters Christine Friez (Mike) and Kelly Simons (Matthew). Dottie is also survived by grandchildren Jim, Bill, Matthew, Corrine, Ashley (Dave), Paige (Sam), Emily, Alec, Aidan, and Luke, as well as great grandchildren, Ava Grace, Emma Rose, and Liam James. Visitation: Thursday October 27, 2022 from 9:45-11:15 a.m at Assumption BVM at 290 State Road, West Grove, PA 19390. Funeral Mass: Thursday October 27, 2022 at 11:30 a.m at Assumption BVM.
