Dorothy J. (née Bushka) Cadile "Dottie", age 85, a resident of Garnet Valley, passed away on March 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Dottie was born and raised in South Philadelphia. At just 16 years old, she met the love of her life, Joe, on the Fourth of July, marking the beginning of a love story that spanned 65 years of marriage. After graduating from John Bartram High School, Dottie and Joe were married. They later moved from Philadelphia to Delaware County. Dottie worked as a secretary at The Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot, now known as the Defense Logistics Agency, before opening her own card and gift shop with her best friend. She had a creative spirit and a love for beauty, which shone through in everything she did. She adored flowers and took great pride in her garden, often spending hours tending to it. She was also known for her talent in making stunning floral arrangements. Her gift-wrapping skills were unmatched, with her intricate and beautifully crafted ribbons. A talented cook, Dottie took joy in preparing meals for her family, from homemade pierogies to classic Italian dishes. Most recently, she was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She is the daughter of the late Peter and Elsie (née Scott) Bushka, and sister to the late Jane (née Bushka) Kisielius. Survivors: her loving husband of 65 years: Joseph J. Cadile, her son: Christopher Cadile, her sister: Patty Ticcino, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
