Obituary

Edith Marion Wilkinson (Moore), returned to the Lord on Thursday, April 15, 2021 whose Husband of 70 years, Robert E. Wilkinson, passed on the exact same day in 2018, April 15th! Edith was born in Turtle Creek, PA, raised in Essington, PA and graduated from Ridley Park High School. Before becoming a housewife and Mother, she worked at Weinberg's, a notable women's fashion store in Chester, PA. She was the very last surviving member of the Moore household. Her parents were Harry Moore and Edith Moore, formerly of Newfoundland. They resided in Essington, PA while they raised their family and ultimately moved to Glen Mills to live with their daughter, Edith and her Husband, Robert, as they came to depend on them more and more during their declining years. Her Sisters were: Alfreda Csanady (Edward), Margaret Koellmann (William); Her Brothers were: Harry (H.M.) Moore (Elaine still living) and Russell E. Moore (Janice) Edith raised her family with her Husband Bob in Essington, PA and built a summer home in the Villas, NJ and enjoyed all of the benefits that this seashore community and surrounding attractions offered, such as the Boardwalk at Wildwood by the Sea and Cape May Point. After her children graduated from college, the summer home was sold and she then moved to Penns Grant One in Glen Mills, PA in 1979, where she continued maintaining a beautiful home for another 35 years, while caring for parents due to their health concerns. Edith truly gave back so much to her parents whom she loved without ever thinking once about the sacrifices she had to make in order to care for them. In 2016, due to her own health concerns, she moved to Glen Mills Senior Living for two (2) years until her Husband Bob passed away. For a fresh change, she moved to Sunrise Senior Living, Newtown Square, in August of 2019, staying only until July of 2020 when the Covid Pandemic had cases beginning to show up at the Sunrise facility. When the family discovered that the facility was not in strict compliance with CDC guidelines, Edith was immediately offered the opportunity to live in a safe environment with her eldest Son in Ridley Park, PA. At once, Edith decided to make one final move. After enjoying the major part of a full nine (9) month stay in Ridley Park, PA, replete with Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthday and Easter celebrations, all structured with Edith's inclusion, she passed away peacefully with her Son Robert and his fiancée Adalaide Dietrich in attendance. Edith's final day was handled under the auspices of Compassus hospice services, with her former Primary Care Physician, Dr. Armand Sevag in command. In addition to serving as it's Director, he was also the founder of the Compassus organization and with a single phone call, he was quickly summoned to coordinate Edith's final 24 hours of care. Having just met Compassus staff that morning, Edith passed ever so gently, later, at 7:21 P.M. on April 15, 2021 and after lying in repose by candlelight beneath the quilt her Dear Mother Edith had made and left to her, she was quickly placed in the custody of Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home shortly after midnight on the morning of April 16th.

Edith is survived by two (2) sons: Eldest son, Robert H. Wilkinson of Ridley Park , PA his former 1st wife Lynda E. Wilkinson (Mudryk), Lester, PA; their three children Robert W. Wilkinson, Lester, PA, Granddaughter Alyssa Rose Wilkinson and Grandson Christopher from different marriages; Kelly Lynn Wilkinson-Kubeck (Chris) of West Chester, PA and Granddaughters Lorelei and Halie; and Andrew M. Moore (Ruth), their children Carly (Cory) Vejraska & Cohen Maxwell, Kyle (Pam) Moore & Greyson Douglas Moore; nephew Eric K. Moore (Julie), children Samantha Moore and Jerica Moore; and Edith's only niece, Pamela A. Moore, of Vero Beach, FL. A private family viewing was held at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home in Aston, PA on Saturday, April 24th followed by a graveside service with Pastor Nancy Hawes presiding over the interment at Edgewood Memorial Park in Glen Mills, PA, coincidentally occurring on her eldest Son's birthday, April 24th. A most unusual Funeral/Birthday gathering followed at her eldest Son's home in Ridley Park, catered by Little Hut Hoagie and Sandwich Shop. Family and Visitors can locate Edith's and her Husband's burial site at Edgewood Memorial Park at 325 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA 19342, in Sec B-Lot 65-Unit K 1&2. This marks the end of a humble, beautifully led Christian life in service to both her parents and her children, their children, and their children's children. Edith's Family wishes to extend our sincerest personal expression of thanks to: Carl Koellman, of Bedford, TX, Douglas Dietrich, of Reading, PA (father of Adalaide Dietrich) and Adalaide's extended family members Rick Hoffman, of Bowmansville, PA, and Randy Hoffman, of Reading, PA for attending Edith's services and for serving as pallbearers at the funeral home and at Edgewood Memorial Park.
