Edward D.
Porter
Jun 2, 1950 — Jul 16, 2026
Edward David "Eddie" Porter, 76, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, Eddie was the beloved son of the late John and Wanda Porter.
Eddie devoted his life to the people he loved most. For 55 years, he shared a devoted marriage with his wife, Diane, and together they lovingly raised their two nieces, Darlene and Debbie, as their own daughters. He was also a dedicated caregiver to his sister-in-law, Cathy, until her passing, always putting the needs of his family before his own.
Eddie found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved music, classic movies-especially Doctor Zhivago-and was fascinated by all kinds of gadgets. He could often be found working with his beloved tools or tackling a project. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his grandchildren, who could always count on Pop-Pop Ed to have fresh donuts waiting whenever they stayed at his house. Eddie was also deeply proud of his American Indian heritage, a part of his identity that he held close throughout his life.
Eddie will be remembered for his unwavering love, quiet strength, generous heart, and the countless ways he cared for those around him. While he will be deeply missed, his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his brother, John Porter.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Diane Porter; the nieces he proudly raised as daughters, Darlene Pearson (Jason) and Debbie Hansen (Bill); his brother, Steve Porter (Cindy); and his cherished grandchildren, Jaylyn, Jason Jr., RJ Johnson, Gabby Johnson, and Lucas Hansen. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever remember him with love.
The family will be holding a private celebration of Eddie's life at a later date.
