Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Towlson, age 95, passed away on June 10, 2026 at Kentmere Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing, where she had resided for the past 9 years. Betty was born in Shavertown, PA, moving to the Delaware County area by the age of 10. She was a graduate of Chester High School and Wilmington Hospital's nursing program where she earned an RN degree, graduating in 1952. Betty began her career at Sacred Heart Hospital in Chester, PA, also working as a nurse for Dr. Crother's office, and serving as the Director of Nursing for Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional. She dedicated her career in service to multiple patients as well as supporting others she had the honor to work with.

In her free time, Betty enjoyed needlepoint and watching the Phillies and Eagles games. She was a voracious reader, working through at least 30 books a year. She was a great animal lover, caring for numerous pets over the years. Betty was raised Baptist but would attend Episcopalian services at Christ Church Christiana Hundred with her nephew Mike when she was able.

Betty was the daughter of the late Arthur and Emily Towlson, and sister of the late Margaret Voshell, Jane Rushlow, and Kathryn Brown.

She is survived by her nephews: James Brown (Pam), Michael Rushlow (Martha), and Scott Voshell (Paula). She is also survived by 2 great nephews and 7 great great nieces and nephews.
