Ellen Sara (Gill) Smith, 71, of Broadkill Beach, Delaware and Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2015. She was born August 9, 1944 in Chester, Pennsylvania to Edward and Catherine Gill. Ellen graduated from Saint Michael's Elementary School in Chester, Pennsylvania and Notre Dame High School for Girls in Moylan, Pennsylvania in 1962.

Ellen worked in judicial support at the Delaware County Courthouse for 29 years, retiring in 2002. Ellen was a congregant at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, Delaware and San Marco Catholic Church in Marco Island, Florida. She was a member of the Sussex County Republican Women's Club as well as Mahjong clubs and book clubs in Delaware and Florida. She and Bob enjoyed traveling around the country visiting their granddaughters and friends and vacationed in Disney World regularly. Her happiest times in life were spent with Bob and her girls.

SURVIVORS: her loving husband of 51 years: Robert R. Smith; two daughters: Theresa S. Desmond (Gerry) of Milton, Delaware and Nancy C. Smith of Lincoln, Delaware; and three granddaughters: Molly S. Desmond, Shannon F. Desmond and Sara E. Desmond.

Visitation: Monday from 10-11:15am at Saint Jude the Apostle, 152 Tulip Dr, Lewes, DE 19958 and Tuesday from 11am-12:30pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014. Funeral Mass: Monday at 11:30 am at St. Jude the Apostle Church and Funeral Liturgy on Tuesday at 12:30 at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: Private.
