Obituary

Ettore Joseph Giantonio, commonly known as "Rip" or "Mr. G", age 93, died on September 10, 2015, at his home in Florida. Rip was born in Thomas, WV, and was raised and educated in Chester, PA. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania Military College, now known as Weidner University, and proudly served his country in the Army in the Philippines and Japan during WWII. For the last 28 years, Rip made his home in Florida.

Rip was a skilled industrial engineer, owned and operated G&G Machine and Engineering, and moonlighted as a jeweler and watchmaker with his own jewelry store in Parkside, Delaware County. He loved ballroom dancing and continued this passion until late in life. He enjoyed bowling, participating in many leagues in his younger years, and also enjoyed fishing at the Jersey Shore.

Rip was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Leopardi) Giantonio, husband of the late Genevieve (Kozak) Giantonio, and brother of the late Sandy Quattro, Tony Quattro, Mamie Quattro-Pennestri, and Adam Giantonio.

SURVIVORS: his children: Dr. Donna Giantonio, Marie Miller (Thomas), Christina Giantonio-Russo (Matthew), John Giantonio, and Joseph Giantonio (Shelley); 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

VISITATION: Saturday from 9:30 to 11:15am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014. Memorial Service: Saturday at 11:15 pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. BURIAL: Private
