Eugene "Gene" Edward Deserable, age 91, of Boothwyn, passed away on January 13, 2019. He was born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia and raised in Berryville, VA until moving to West Philadelphia in the 8th grade. He was a graduate of West Catholic Boys High School in 1946.

Gene started working for Pennsylvania Railroad in 1948 and retired from Amtrack in 1990. He was a Navy veteran and a parishioner at St. John Fisher church.

He was the son of the late Eugene J. and the late Mary Anna (nee McCollough) Deserable, husband to the late Claire Dorothy (nee Feeley) Deserable, and brother to the late John and Francis Deserable.

SURVIVORS: Children: Mary Deserable-Boles (John), Michelle Deserable, Donna Ann Deserable, Jeanmarie Deserable; Grandchildren: Michelle Matlack, Hannah Boles, Rylee Boles; and Great Grandchildren: Blake and Maxwell.

VISITATION: Thursday from 9:15-10:15 am at St. John Fisher Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Upper Chichester, PA 19061. FUNERAL MASS: Thursday at 10:30 am at St. John Fisher Church.
