Francis "Frank" Durning, age 78, of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020.
Frank was born and raised for most of his life in Philadelphia, PA before moving to Delaware County, PA. He attended Archbishop Prendergast, Monsignor Bonner and Upper Darby High Schools before enlisting in the United States Army. He worked for a time as an inspector for Boeing Vertol, a Master Plumber for many years in Philadelphia and Delaware County, and most recently a sales associate at The Home Depot in PA and DE locations. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening and signing to country and "oldies" music, trips to the Jersey shore, and most of all family gatherings in his backyard.
He was the son of the late Peter F. and Catherine (Healey) Durning; and brother to the late Billy Durning.
SURVIVORS: His loving wife of 57 years: Ida T. Durning (nee Long); Daughter: Charlene T. (James, Sr.) Berchtold; Grandchildren: James, Jr. and Jenna Lynn; Siblings: The Rev. Canon Michael Durning, Cathy Ann Warfield, Kenny Durning, and Andrew Durning; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Private. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
BURIAL: Private. Philadelphia Memorial Park Cemetery.
