Fredrick J. Neeson, age 99, died March 22, 2021 at Riddle Memorial Hospital, Media. Born in Chester, Fred graduated from Archmere Academy, Claymont in 1940 and has resided in Upper Chichester Township for more than 70 years. Fred worked for the Sun Oil Company for 39 years. He worked several positions throughout his career and was most proud of his position as supervisor of 17 plant. Fred was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sports, especially Notre Dame. He also enjoyed bowling, woodworking, and gardening. Fred enjoyed traveling with his wife Alice including trips to Alaska, Italy, and London. Fred was a true hero serving in the US Navy during World War II and Korea. Fred was also a founding member of St. John Fisher Church, Boothwyn where he has been usher for many years.
He was the husband of 76 years to his loving wife Alice Bullard Neeson (2020) and the son of the late Robert & Helen Neeson.
Survivors: His children Kathleen Cosgrove, Fredrick Neeson Jr. (Catherine), Gerald Neeson, Terence Neeson (Theresa), Annmarie Gaspari (Thomas). Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday March 29, 2021 from 9:30- 10:15am at St. John Fisher Church, 4245 Chichester Ave. Boothwyn. Funeral Mass: Monday at 10:30am at the church. Burial: Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood. Memorial Donations may be made to the church at the above address. Arrangements: Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, Aston.
