Obituary

On April 8th, 2016 at 11:58 pm, after an evening surrounded by his loving family at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media, PA, Allan was peacefully escorted by angels into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His wife and oldest grandson were privileged to be present for his home going. Allan was 79 years old.

Allan, met Rita G. (Nicholson) Trego at work and they were married in 1957. He was born on October 20, 1936 in Martins Corner, Chester County, Pa, on Uncle Lew's farm. He was the 5th of 9 children born to the late Mae Isabelle (Pfitzenmeyer) and Samuel Leonard Trego of Glenmoore, PA.

Allan grew up in Honey Brook, PA on the family farm. When he was not working on the farm, he enjoyed spending time swimming while trying to avoid the snapping turtles that lived in the pond, playing baseball and fishing. Sometimes, instead of avoiding the snapping turtle, they would catch one and have Snapper Soup with roasted corn on the cob. He, fondly remembered gathering branches and twigs to roast hot dogs and marshmallows over an open fire.

Allan graduated from Downingtown High School in 1955. He loved playing softball and in his early adult life spent time playing "Donkey baseball." He was an awesome pitcher which earned him the name "Awesome Al." He loved worshiping God and spending time with his brothers and sisters in Christ. He prepared many meals and served his church body as a youth leader. He was the BBQ King at Rita's family reunions.  Everyone enjoyed being around him and every person who interacted with him had a special place in his life. These special relationships earned him many names such as Mr. T, Al, Allan, Mr. Trego, Uncle Al, Grandpop, Young'in, Pop Pop, Poppy and G-Poppy. During any interaction with him, he would make you feel like the most important part of his world. He loved and cherished everyone he knew and in turn everyone loved and cherished him. He will be missed by many, but most especially his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Allan worked hard at Reynold's Springs and Reynold's Metal of Chester, Pa at "Jerry's Place" in Boothwyn Pa and at Marcus Hook Hardware, Marcus Hook, PA.

He is survived by his wife Rita and daughters, Tina (Scott) Hall of Paradise, PA and Judi (Ron) Hall of Pennsdale, PA. Nine grandchildren, John, Kevin, Stephanie, Darrell and Elizabeth, Nathan, Rebekah, Daniel and Joshua.
