Gabriel "Sonny" Forte, age 92, a longtime resident of Aston, PA, passed away on March 19, 2025. Gabriel was born in Chester, PA, and was a 1950 graduate of St. James High School. Gabriel would go on to serve his nation honorably as a member of the United States Army from 1953-1955. Beginning his service at Basic Training at Ft. Hood in Texas, he would become a member of the 1st Armor Division and 81st Recon, based in Texas. Once deployed, Gabriel would join the 1st Calvary 5th Battalion in Japan on Hokkaido Island and was then sent to Germany where he served with the HQ Company, assisting with recon and scouting.

Upon his return home Gabriel joined the workforce with Baldwin's Locomotive in Eddystone, then with Peco working there until his retirement in 1990. Gabriel was active in the community, helping to coach Aston AA Basketball and Softball. In his free time, Gabriel enjoyed taking fishing trips with his son and close friends to Canada and Virginia, and surf fishing at Cape Henlopen in Delaware. He also enjoyed going on cruises and traveling in general. Gabriel was an avid golfer and Phillies fan and a member of the Sons of Italy. Uncle "Sonny" was loved by his extended family for his bright disposition and colorful storytelling.

He was the son of the late Giacomo Forte and Yolanda DiDominicantonio, and brother of the late Ida Bruni, Thomas Forte, and Helen Episcopo.

Survivors: His Children: Karen Forte, Linda Ashbee (Dan), Sandra Lupton (John), Deborah Forte, and Steven Forte (Helene). Grandson: Giacomo George Forte. His best Friend: Eddie Wresneski as well as many nieces and nephews.
