Heinrich J. Horeis "Henry," age 87, passed away on February 24, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. Henry was born and raised in Hörne, Germany, and immigrated to America at the age of 15. He graduated from Olney High School and spent many years living in the Somerton neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia before later moving to Upper Chichester, PA.
Henry worked for Hyde Electric before spending 35 years with Comroe Electric, where he remained until his retirement. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan who faithfully followed the Flyers, Phillies, and Eagles. Henry enjoyed tinkering around the house, gardening, and birdwatching, and took great pleasure in feeding and tracking the birds in his yard. He was an animal lover and cherished annual family vacations to the Delaware beaches and the Outer Banks. Henry was also a proud United States Army veteran.
He was the son of the late Elizabeth Pezak, and the brother-in-law of the late Richard May, William Phillips and Erik Volbrig. He was also deeply devoted to his beloved black lab, Olive.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan Horeis; his children, Elizabeth Sciblo (John), Steven Horeis (Judy), and Scott Horeis (Eleanor); his sister, Annemarie Volbrig; sister-in-law, Alida Phillips, as well his nieces, nephews and great nephews. Graveside Service: Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940. Those attending are asked to arrive at
