Helen (Ippoliti) Read, age 83, of Media, PA., passed away on December 4, 2019 at her home.

Born in Chester, she was a 1954 graduate of Chester High School. While in school, she was active in the Dramatic and Honor Societies, Student Council, School Newspaper, and the Annual. Helen graduated from PMC College in 1963 with a bachelor's degree in business. While at PMC, she was active in the Student Council and the Dome. After graduation, she was active with the YWCA, Lib Lib singles, other singles groups, and an active member of the Chester High School alumni of the Class of 1954.

Helen was the manager and later the owner of the family business, Leonard's Furniture Repair Company of Chester. She was also an active volunteer for the elderly in various places and capacities. She opened her heart and her home to foreign students in the 1990's for Widener University. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, watching cooking shows and game shows, cultural events, and time spent in Ocean City, New Jersey.

She was the devoted daughter of the late Leonard and Esther (Sperratore) Ippoliti.

Survivors: Daughter: Karen Read Gane (Robert); Grandchildren: Samantha Marie and Jacob Leonard Gane; Great Granddaughter: Megan Gane.

Visitation: Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 am at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston. Funeral Liturgy: Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Burial: Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood.
