Helen M. Root, age 80, a resident of Williamstown, NJ, passed away on July 6, 2025, at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Helen was born and raised in Philadelphia, beginning in West Philadelphia before moving to South West Philadelphia where she would attend and graduate from West Catholic Girl's School. For many years Helen worked for Bell Telephone which would eventually become AT&T. In her free time, she volunteered with the Pioneers Club with AT&T. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, watching TV and Movies, and travelling. Throughout the years she travelled to visit family and she particularly enjoyed going to Disney World to see Minnie Mouse. Helen had season tickets for the Phillies right behind third base so that she could cheer on her favorite player, Mike Schmidt. She often brought her family along with her to enjoy the games and spend time with them, all of whom loved her dearly. Helen was the daughter of the late James A. Connell and Helen Root, and sister of the late Edward, Chuck, and Joe Root, Joan Byron, and Pat Taylor. Survivors: Siblings: Catherine Long and Michael Root (Cathy). She is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews. Visitation: Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 10:00am-11:00am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014.
