Helen (née Desmond) Udovich, formerly of Brookhaven and Chadds Ford, PA, died May 2nd at home. She was born in Chester to Clement F. and Catherine (née Flynn) Desmond. She graduated from Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish School and Notre Dame (Moylan) Catholic High School. After graduation, Helen was employed as an Executive Secretary at American Viscose Corporation in Marcus Hook, PA.

She married John P. "Jack" Udovich in September 1956 and together they raised 9 children. Helen enjoyed her time with her children, running her household, volunteering at her children's school functions, and attending their many sports and extra-curricular activities. When she returned to employment, Helen worked as an office manager for Levitz Furniture in WIlmington, DE and then in the Development Office at Archmere Academy in Claymont, DE.

A devout Catholic, Mrs. Udovich enjoyed going to daily Mass, participating in Eucharistic Adoration and membership in the Daughters of Charity. At Our Lady of Charity Parish in Brookhaven, Helen worked the parish carnivals and participated in the the parish variety shows. While living in Chadds Ford she enjoyed being a member of and an office volunteer at St. Cornelius Parish.

Helen was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. She was particularly proud of her Irish heritage and in all her years, she never missed celebrating St. Patrick's Day with song, drink, and merriment. Her greatest joys were family get togethers.

Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years John P. Udovich in July 2018 and by their youngest child, Elizabeth E. "Beth" Udovich in 2001. Mrs. Udovich is survived by her children Kate (Chris) Kroszner of Perkasie, John T. Udovich (Alice) of Philadelphia, Natalie (Mike) Tackitt of Liberty, NC, Meg (Gus) Sandilands of Linwood, NJ, Clem Udovich (DeeDee) of Annandale, NJ, Michael Udovich (Linda) of Brookhaven, Patrick Udovich (Megan) of Media, Regina (Tom) Turnbach of Huntingdon Valley, her sister Jean Feeney of West Chester and her sister-in-law Inez M. (Udovich) Winter of San Diego, CA. Additionally, she is survived by 28 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on the family on Wednesday, May 8th from 9:15 to 10:15 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in celebration of Helen's life. Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish Cemetery, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Beth Udovich Scholarship Fund at St. Thomas the Apostle Rectory, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA 19432.
