Hildegard Elizabeth (Siegert) Swanson, age 83, passed away on March 24, 2017. Hildegard was born in Germany and came to the U.S. in 1958 as a bride and young mother. She lived in Chester from 1958 until 2016 when she moved to Upper Chichester. Hildegard worked at Ship n Shore in Upland, PA and then worked at Fair Acres for many years. She belonged to the Franklin Fire Co. Women's Auxiliary and she enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casinos. She was a former parishioner of Resurrection Church in Chester where she was active with their PTA. Hildegard was a loving and caring mother and Oma who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Margaret (Oeler) Siegert, wife of the late Donald Swanson, Sr. who died in 2006, and sister of the late Franz Siegert.

SURVIVORS: 3 Children: Michele Rivera (Carlos), Christine Swanson (Joe), and Donald Swanson, Jr. (Marie), her sister, Theresia Kriest, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass and Celebration of her Life will be held on her birthday Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd. Wilmington, DE 19810. A Visitation will be held prior to Mass from 10 - 11:00 am. BURIAL: Private. Condolences www.nolanfidale.com.
