1930 - 2015

Hope S. Swanson, age 84, passed away peacefully, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday May 2, 2015 at her home in Woodlyn surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Chester to the late James & Clara (Taylor) Meekins. Hope was a former Nurses Aid for more than 50 years having worked at Fair Acres Nursing Home, Shipley Manor and The Manchester House among others. Her life revolved around her love and care for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Hope was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bobo" H. Swanson, III; her son, Donald P. Swanson; and brothers, Jimmy & Ray Meekins

SURVIVORS: Loving mother of: William H. Swanson, IV (Tracey), Matthew Swanson, Sr., Donna Shiarra (Joe); Siblings: Margaret Lawrence (Bill), Delores Zeh, Al Meekins (Gertie) and Sister in law Diana Billinger (Jim); Cherished Grandchildren: Billy, Hope, Dawn, Donnie, Matt, Jr., Gina and Bernie; 17 Precious Great Grandchildren; Also many loving nieces and nephews survive.

VISITATION: Saturday from 9:00 - 10:15 am at Our Lady Of Peace Church, Milmont Ave., Milmont Park, PA.

MASS: Saturday at 10:30 am at Our Lady Of Peace Church, Milmont Park.
